Falling Waters State Park Announces Guided Nature Walks for Autumn Season

CHIPLEY, FL – As the intense summer heat gives way to the milder temperatures of autumn, Falling Waters State Park is inviting residents and visitors to experience the season's beauty up close. The park has just announced a new series of guided nature walks, scheduled to take place every Saturday morning in October and November.
The ranger-led tours will guide participants along the park's scenic trails, offering insights into the unique geology and diverse ecosystem of the area. Falling Waters is home to Florida's highest waterfall, and the walks will provide a special focus on the flora and fauna that thrive in the park's sinkhole-rich environment.

"Autumn is a fantastic time to visit. The air is crisp, the lighting is beautiful, and many of our trees, like the sweetgums and hickorys, show some lovely fall color," said Lead Park Ranger David Chen. "Our goal with these walks is to help people connect with the park on a deeper level and notice the small wonders they might otherwise walk right past."
Rangers will point out migratory birds passing through the area, identify native plant species, and discuss the history of the park. The walks are designed to be family-friendly and will last approximately 90 minutes, covering about one mile of easy to moderate terrain.
The guided walks are free with paid park admission of $5 per vehicle. Space is limited, so interested parties are encouraged to pre-register by calling the Falling Waters ranger station.
